BOC 1004: HVAC Controls Fundamentals introduces you to automatic control systems for building mechanical systems and equipment as well as HVAC control sequences and programming. Learn to target possible inefficiencies in your HVAC system and to evaluate potential problems as part of an enhanced operation and maintenance program.
- Introduces Building Automation Systems (BAS) and the graphic user interface as a cost effective tool to review real time data to identify problems and verify proper performance for air handling and central plant systems as part of an enhanced operation and maintenance program.
- Covers the development and use of key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure persistence of performance.
An HVAC Controls Review project will be assigned and is due prior to the next course, BOC 1005: Indoor Environmental Quality.
BOC 1004 may be taken as stand-alone course or as a course for the Level I Building Operator Certification. To qualify for Building Operator Training Certification of Completion, 1004: HVAC Controls Fundamentals must be completed with BOC 1001, 1002, 1003, 1005, 1006, and 1009.
