Course Description

The principles of mindfulness meditation are put into practice to reduce burnout and live life more fully in the present moment. Life skills are learned to enhance awareness and self-mastery, resulting in increased gratitude, joy, compassion, forgiveness, and contentment while becoming more skilled at handling stress, frustration, anger, pain, grief, and death. Enhance effective communication, resolve conflicts, and deepen relationships. Respond rather than react to life.

No prior experience is necessary.

  1. Each session: starts with a 10-minute meditation (so you need to be on time), followed by 20 minutes of Powerpoint discussion, and and ends with  20-minute meditation.
  2. The instructor stays after class if you have additional questions.
  3. No final exam: The real test is LIFE!

No class on Veteran's Day (11/11): the instructor will assign a module on Laulima to complete. 

No class on Thansgiving Day (11/24). 

The course will be held via Zoom. Before joining a Zoom meeting on a computer or mobile device, you can download the Zoom app from the Zoom Download Center. Otherwise, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom when you click on the link, which will be provided to you prior to the online seminar. You will also receive a digit-number (Meeting ID) and password, which are necessary to join the online classroom.
