Course Description

Intermediate 1 will provide a smooth transition between the beginning to the intermediate Japanese language course levels. Intermediate 1 students will use the 4th edition of Japanese for Busy People 2 (mandatory), and 4th edition for Japanese for Busy People 1 romanized edition (optional, bring if you took previous classes). Using the basic grammatical knowledge acquired in the beginning levels, students will learn the expressions and structures that are useful in everyday conversation. In addition to formal language instruction, classes include presentations and discussions of the cultural aspects of Japan and conversation practice with native Japanese speakers.

 

Notes

You must be at least 18 years old on the first day of instruction in order to enroll in this course.

 

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge in Japanese orthography is recommended.
