Course Description

The Intermediate (Level 2) course uses Chinese language study lessons from Encounters, Book 1, Chapters 4-6, intended to further improve students' Chinese grammar, speaking, listening, reading, and vocabulary capacity. Classes include cultural demonstrations and role-play conversation practices. 

The course follows units 4-6 of the textbook Encounters - Chinese Language and Culture, Book 1, by Cynthia Y. Ning ( UHM) & John S. Montanaro (Yale University), A Yale CIPG Program, Yale University Press, 2012. Textbook not included with course fee.

The course is appropriate for students with some Chinese language background, but newcomers are welcome with instructor approval. Call (808) 956-9249 to inquire.

Notes

You must be at least 16 years old on the first day of instruction in order to enroll in this course.
