PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS

Get ready for a fun, dynamic learning experience designed to help you build confidence in reading the Korean alphabet. Whether you are looking to improve your speed or just need a solid refresher, this class is designed to help you take your Hangul reading skills to the next level. If you still find yourself hesitating when reading Korean text, or feel a bit rusty with your stroke order, don't worry, you are in the perfect place! We know that mastering a new script takes practice. We’ll bring each lesson to life using real Korean culture, like diving into popular K-pop lyrics and breaking down iconic K-drama dialogue. This booster course is specially crafted for anyone who has finished Beginning Korean 1 or already knows the basics of Hangul.

Learner Outcomes

In this 6-week course, students will:

  • Learn the names of 14 consonants
  • Understand how consonants and vowels combine into syllable blocks
  • Recognize all letter pairings and compounds
  • Read words more fluently with native-like pronunciation
  • Be familiar with the rules of correct stroke orders and written spacing
  • Practice handwriting and navigate digital Korean keyboards
  • Unpack the fun details of Korean culture.
